Faculty: Melyssa Stone with Christopher Roberts and Sarah Bartolome
July 5-9, 2021 • 11:00am-12:30pm PDT
Building upon last year’s curriculum, this course will dive deeper into culturally-responsive pedagogies and into topics of embedding antiracist practices into the music education classroom. Through examination of traditional teaching structures, exploration of CRT pedagogical paradigms and personal reflection, participants will further develop tools to become conscious and connected educators and create spaces cohesive to student learning.
Prerequisite: Please note that this is not an introductory course and will best meet the learning levels of educators familiar and currently implementing culturally-responsive practices in their classroom. Participants will also be expected to complete reflections outside of class time.
